          Building Features

The Pogue Student Center features many amenities, which offer students an inclusive and fun extracurricular atmosphere.

The Pogue Student Center serves as the “family room” for the University community. In January 2008, the Student Center completed its multi-million dollar renovation, and continues to support programs and services for students. The Information Desk is open during all building hours, where you can always see a smiling face and ask a question.

The Student Center houses a Food Court, appropriately named “Celtic Court,” featuring WOW Cafe and Wingery, Chop’d and Wrap’d and Pazzelli’s Pizza. For additional eating options, the building features a Cyber Café, which provides a comfortable environment with a variety of seating options, including tall tables, regular height tables and chairs, loveseats, and sofa chairs with coffee tables. You can order a variety of hot and cold drinks, as well as premade sandwiches, bagels and pastries. The Cyber Café overlooks the Fitness Center with a view that extends to the lake.

The building also features a Commuter Lounge—a place for EU commuters to call home and relax, study or watch TV between classes. In addition, SGA operates a Convenience Store and Game Room for students, where they can purchase snacks, rent movies, purchase tickets for events, and of course, have fun and play games.

The Fitness Center, with gorgeous view of the lake, has multiple TVs so that you can watch television while working out. A selectorize machine and free weight area offer something for everyone. Two aerobic studios add variety to fitness classes, and the elevated track, which spans 1/14 of a mile, also overlooks the lake. The recreation area includes two gymnasiums to accommodate multiple activities. Also included in the recreation area is the CORE Office (Campus Outdoor Recreation), climbing gym and racquetball courts. Both men’s and women’s locker rooms feature steam rooms and saunas.

Other features of the Student Center include a 75-seat theatre, named “Scot Cinema,” with fixed comfortable seating, a stage for small performances, a projector and screen to show movies, and high-tech surround sound and lighting systems. In addition, the Student Center contains a large multipurpose room, which seats 400, contains a Smart Station, a portable dance floor, sound and lighting systems, and offers a beautiful venue for  numerous events. This is a building where all students are welcome, and great things are always happening.
