Edinboro University is committed to supporting both pregnant and parenting students regardless of the student’s age, marital status, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, disability, or lifestyle choices. The new Parenting Resource Room, located in McNerney Hall across the lobby from Ghering Health and Wellness Center, assists students who are pregnant or parents by providing them a safe space for themselves and their children while on campus.

While attending classes, students can work with other approved students to schedule babysitting for their children in the resource room.
This program is for students who are parents or are becoming parents and was created in order to help students stay in school throughout the pregnancy and after becoming parents. In order to enroll in the program, at least one parent must be a student. We encourage the student to have monthly appointments at the Health Center to make sure that the baby is receiving proper prenatal care and the student has the resources needed, such as: OBGYN, hospital, day care, prenatal care, etc.
Approximately one month prior to delivery of the baby, the students will be able to receive a free car seat, diaper bag, diapers, wipes, baby food, and a baby blanket and hat. Students can also receive food from our on-campus food pantry or visit the community food pantry located in Lawrence Towers on the University’s campus.
