Office for Students with Disabilities
Attendant Care Program
Currently, students who enroll in the University-provided Attendant Care Program are housed on the first floor of Rose Hall. Attendant Care services are made available on-campus within Rose Hall and coordinated by a dynamic team of professionals who include a program nurse, occupational therapist, social worker and a student affairs professional who are all committed to student success within and outside of the classroom. Services are provided by personal care attendants who are employed by the University, including student personnel.
The scope of Attendant Care Services includes those activities of daily living with which students require assistance. This residence hall based program is designed to assist students in developing the skills and knowledge to maximize their independence through learning to direct their care and to make responsible decisions regarding their needs. Our Attendant Care team provides assistance with the following daily living activities:
Additional information regarding Personal Care Attendant program and services may be addressed to Mary Fetzner-Jensen, RN at AttendantCare@edinboro.edu.
All students are encouraged to meet with members of the program team upon admission to determine needs for attendant care and other services. Regarding housing, students must complete housing forms through the Residence Life and Housing Office and identify their need to receive attendant care. A room on the first floor of Rose Hall cannot be guaranteed. In the event all rooms are full, a wait list is established. The Office for Students with Disabilities will work with students to secure the best possible housing assignment. Students are encouraged to make their requests for housing well in advance of the beginning of the next semester.
Please contact the Residence Life and Housing Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or (814) 732-2818 for housing information.
