To participate in the Graduate Commencement Ceremony, you must have indicated on your Online Graduation Application that you plan to attend the ceremony. Please see the Graduation Checklist to verify that you have completed the necessary steps.
The Graduate Student Commencement Ceremony begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, in Cole Auditorium. Doors will open for graduates and guests at 1 p.m. The ceremony will last approximately one hour.
You must arrive at the Rehearsal Hall in the rear of the Cole Auditorium no later than 1:15 p.m. to be arranged in line for the processional.
Academic attire is black for all Master's degree candidates. The tassel is to be worn on the left side of the cap. Academic attire will be available for purchase at the Graduation Fair. If you have questions regarding academic attire please contact the Bookstore at (814)732-2456.
The Graduate Student Commencement Ceremony will be held in Cole Auditorium. Tickets will not be required, but we ask that you limit the number of guests that you invite.
Graduates will receive a diploma cover at the Commencement ceremony. Actual diplomas will be mailed to graduates after degrees are conferred, approximately four weeks after grades are posted. Please note that students must have all financial obligations to EU satisfied before their diploma will be released.
Graduates will be photographed as they receive their diploma and are hooded. If students, family members or friends wish, they may purchase copies of these photographs from Grad Images, or 1-800-261-2576. Students will be contacted directly by Grad Images regarding the photos.
The Commencement ceremony will be webcast and available for viewing on Edinboro’s website for individuals who are not able to attend the ceremony. The live video stream will begin at approximately at 1 p.m. on Commencement day. DVDs of the Commencement ceremony will be available for purchase through Edinboro television (ETV). Go to www.eupdvd.com to preorder.
Guests may take pictures or videos from their seats in the auditorium.
You can pre-order flowers from a local florist or purchase them the day of Commencement in the lobby of Cole Auditorium – Memorial Hall. To pre-order, go to AFloralAffairDesigns.com and then find "Edinboro University" under the "Occasions" menu.
Cole Auditorium is theatre-style seating only. There will be a limited number of spaces available for guests in wheelchairs. Please arrive early to obtain one of these spaces.
A limited number of assistive listening devices are available for the hearing impaired and can be obtained in the lobby of Cole Auditorium – Memorial Hall on commencement day.
Adequate parking is available in the following parking lots next to Memorial Hall – Cole Auditorium; Academy Hall, Alexander Music Building, Alumni House, Clock Tower, Compton Hall, Loveland Hall, or there is street parking. It is recommended you that you arrive early so you do not get caught in a traffic jam.
