2010 Annual Disabilities Conference 


 

Transition, Independence and Empowerment  August 5-6, 2010 August 4: Preconference panel discussion Don't let the negativity given to you by the world disempower you. Instead give to yourself that which empowers you.

 

Edinboro University’s first ever disabilities conference, Transition, Independence and Empowerment, will focus on ensuring the educational achievement of students who are striving to academically achieve in the midst of their disabilities.

Each presentation will emphasize the process and ultimate goal of empowering students with disabilities for a successful transition from the completion of their formal education to gainful employment and independence.

Anyone interested in the many facets of living and working with individuals with disabilities is encouraged to attend the conference. Participants will leave Edinboro University ready to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.


The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Conference sessions will be directed towards:

  • K-12 educators

  • Post-secondary educators

  • Agency and community service providers and Parents, families, friends and allies of students with disabilities

Conference Keynote Speaker is nationally renowned disability advocate, professor and noted author Dr. Michael Bérubé.
