A Conference for Those Serving Students with Disabilities
Transition, Independence and Empowerment – A Conference for Those Serving Students with Disabilities, will be held August 3-5, 2011, with a pre-conference panel discussion and activities on August 3.
Edinboro University is proud to host the second annual DisAbility Conference. This year's conference will focus on transition issues, particularly as they relate to requirements, resources, and requests. Topics will include service delivery, independence, working on/toward career development, and self-advocacy.
Why should you consider becoming a sponsor? While helping underwrite the expense of this conference, your sponsorship will educate those who provide services to individuals with disabilities and, therefore, ultimately help disabled students make a successful transition from the completion of their formal education to gainful employment and independence.
Who should consider becoming a conference sponsor? Corporations, service providers, and educational institutions interested in reaching the decision makers, educators, and service organizations of those who serve students with disabilities.
Who will be in attendance? K-12 educators, post-secondary educators, agency and community service providers, parents, families, friends and allies of students with disabilities. A wide range of presentations and conference tracks will attract providers interested in obtaining continuing education credits, including but not limited to National Counselor Certification (NCC) and Act 48 Hours.
