We are honored to have Apple’s Dr. John Landis who is their Development Executive as well as an adjunct Faculty member at Millersville University. He will be speaking about “Mobility in Education” in the Pogue Student Center Theatre.11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
The Technology Buffet will occur in the Van Houten South Dining Hall. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Technology Buffet event, the format consists of multiple tables each one having a presenter showing off current or cutting edge technologies that are being used for instructional enhancement. Each presentation repeats every 10 to 12 minutes and they are designed to provide you with an overview to jump start your interest in using that technology. You can travel from table to table or just to the tables that interest you and listen to the presentations and ask questions accordingly. The more tables you visit, the more door prize tickets you will receive as we will draw for the door prizes at the end of the event (around 1:30 pm). A free buffet lunch will be provided and you can carry your lunch around with you as you visit the tables.2:00 - 3:30 p.m.

QiQong and Meditation Class
Diebold Center for the Performing Arts @ 217 Meadville Street, Edinboro, PA 16444QiQong and Meditation classes will be held on Wednesdays, August 29 through December 5, 11:00 a.m., in the Diebold Center for the Performing Arts, room 106. Sponsored by Edinboro University Theatre.
QiQong can be described as "Chinese Yoga" and is an integration of rhythmic movements, breathing and spiritual intention that can create a balanced lifestyle and bring greater harmony, stability and enjoyment. These classes will be taught by Jenn Shepherd.
This event is open to the public. Admission is free, however, donations will be accepted. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Edinboro University Theatre, University Players Company. Sugested donation for students is $1-3, and $5-8 for all others.

Weaving – Beginning or Intermediate

Beginning students will learn how to warp a loom, read a draft, and weave basic tabby and twill patterns, completing 4 place mats with these techniques. Intermediate students will learn how to write a draft and will use one of two techniques for a project: an advanced twill technique (Rose Path) or overshot technique (Honesuckle). Students should bring scissors and tape measure to class.
Cost of class is $155.00 and $40 for supplies (supplies purchased from instructor).

Two full-day workshops are offered. Frustrated with treating /r/ disorders? This course offers a new and refreshing approach to treat the most difficult of sounds. Backed with extensive research and field testing, a complete phonemic approach to evaluating and treating /r/ is presented based on the 32 different types of /r/.
Christine Ristuccia, M.S. CCC-SLP, is an experienced school-based speech-language pathologist who has worked with a wide range of communicative disorders ranging from preschool to adulthood. Christine founded Say It Right in 1999. Her phonemic approach to /r/ remediation, The Entire World of R, sets the standard for efficient, successful correction of /r/ articulation errors. Christine is the author of several books and has spoken throughout the United States on articulation disorders. Dr. Balou, an alum of the EUP MASLP program, will speak on Swallowing Disorders and Head & Neck Cancer. While a doctoral student she was awarded seven research grants including the Gerondelis Doctoral Research Fellowship,Boston, MA, 2010 and theAHEPA Foundation Research Grant, Washington, D.C., 2011. Her research uses simultaneous solid state intraluminal manometry and videofluoroscopy, videomanometry, to understand the pressure foundations of swallowing components in the normal population and the head & neck cancer patients treated with chemoradiation.
