Cooper Hall @ 230 Scotland Road, Edinboro, PA 16444

    Dr. Laurie Parendes, Geosciences Department

This talk will explore the background, approach, and motivation of several women who have made prominent, pioneering contributions to the environmental movement. Some (such as Rachel Carson) are quite famous environmentalists; others (such as Suzanne Lewis) may be less widely known. The details of their stories vary, but all share attributes of power and have been able to tap into that power to take a stand and make a positive difference in addressing important environmental issues.
