Interim President's March 30 Message to University Community on Passing of Trustee Harry Thomas03/30/2012
Dear Member of the Edinboro Community:
It is with a great sense of sadness that I inform you of the passing Wednesday evening of longtime Edinboro University Council of Trustees member and local Attorney Harry Thomas. Harry, who lost a brave and valiant battle with cancer, was one of the first members appointed to the Edinboro University Council of Trustees when Edinboro became a University in 1983. He served with great distinction, dedication and commitment for nearly 30 years, including two years as president of the Pennsylvania Association of Councils of Trustees, helping to bring last year’s Spring PACT Conference to Edinboro University. His tenure with the Council of Trustees in various leadership positions included four terms as Chair (eight years), and two terms as Vice Chair (four years).
Our thoughts and most sincere condolences are with Harry’s wife, Susan, and his family and friends, including many in Erie and Pennsylvania’s legal community, and our own Edinboro community. His insight, leadership, friendship and dedication to higher education and especially to Edinboro students will be greatly missed.
