Edinboro University has received national recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Colleges” ranking, earning a spot in the top tier as one of the best universities in the North.
“This top-tier ranking provides national recognition of the excellence of an Edinboro education,” Edinboro University President Dr. Julie E. Wollman said. “It affirms for prospective and current students and their parents that our focus on student success yields quantifiable results. I am very excited about this and thank the faculty and staff for the work they did throughout the year to demonstrate our quality.”

The U.S. News Best Colleges rankings are based on a complex methodology that weighs freshman retention rate, graduation rate, class size, student-faculty ratio, average SAT/ACT scores, the high school class rank of incoming freshmen, acceptance rate and alumni giving to arrive at an overall score. Institutions such as Edinboro University that grant a full range of undergraduate degrees and offer some master’s degree programs but few doctoral programs are grouped by their geographic region (North, South, Midwest and West) and ranked according to their overall score.
