Welcome back to the Spring Semester from President Julie E. Wollman01/27/2013
Dear Edinboro University Students –
Welcome to campus. I’m glad you’re here — you’ve made an excellent decision to attend Edinboro this spring — and I look forward to a busy and productive several months together.
As the new semester begins and we face the possibility of a faculty strike, I want you to know that your education and well-being are the University’s top priorities. While we all hope that a strike never occurs, no matter what happens we are committed to remaining open and continuing your progress toward your degrees.
The campus services you rely on also will continue if a strike occurs. Dining facilities, residence halls, computer labs, Baron-Forness Library, Pogue Student Center, and Ghering Health and Wellness Center will remain open, as will all administrative and student support offices. Your work-study jobs will be there for you, and many campus events will be held as scheduled.
I will continue to inform you as soon as we have any news to share about negotiations, and additional updates will be provided through our Edinboro University communication channels, such as the www.edinboro.edu website, the Boro Messenger newsletter, and e2campus text messages. As always, I encourage you to remain engaged with the campus community and focused on your academic success, embracing opportunities inside and outside the classroom to learn and grow. And as always, I urge you to be in touch with me if you have questions. Send me an email message or come to next week’s Listening Session so we can talk about any concerns you have.
I am so pleased you’re here for the spring semester. During the winter break I missed having you on campus!
Wishing you a successful semester,
