Edinboro University wins Bread Box Award from Second Harvest Food Bank

EDINBORO, Pa. -  Edinboro University was recently honored to receive a coveted Bread Box Award from the Second Harvest Food Bank of Erie.

Second Harvest Food Bank recognized organizations and individuals for holding fundraisers and food collections to benefit the food bank during the past year.

This year, Edinboro University was recognized with a first place Bread Box Award in the College/University/Technical School category.

The award cites the outstanding collaborative efforts of University Student Activities, the Community Outreach Center, and Lamda Chi Alpha fraternity on behalf of the Second Harvest Food Bank.

"We are very proud to have attained this recognition," said Denise Gaines, director of Edinboro's Community Outreach, and program head of the Graduate Reading and Professional Studies Department.

Edinboro University's Community Outreach Center provides students with the opportunity to participate in various community service projects throughout the entire year.
