10/13/2011

EDINBORO, Pa. –  Edinboro’s Friends of the Baron-Forness Library will welcome Congressman Mike Kelly (R-3rd District) as the keynote speaker October 20 during the fund-raising organization’s “Dinner and a Book” event.

The annual dinner will take place at Van Houten Dining Hall South, beginning at 5 p.m. with a cocktail reception and a buffet dinner at 5:45. A book raffle will conclude the evening’s festivities.

Congressman Kelly’s speech will focus on “The Future of Public Education During a Time of Fiscal Austerity,” and he will respond to audience questions following his remarks.

Kelly, of Butler, became the 3rd Congressional District of Pennsylvania’s elected representative earlier this year.  His district encompasses a large chunk of Western Pennsylvania, including Erie and Crawford Counties

“Dinner and a Book” is sponsored annually by the Friends of the Baron-Forness Library, a volunteer campus and community organization that helps to financially support special library projects through various fund-raising efforts.

The cost of the evening is $20, which includes the cocktail reception, dinner, and book raffle tickets. Checks should be made payable to “Edinboro University.”  Please RSVP by October 17 to 814-732-2779 or e-mail mwieczorek@edinboro.edu.
