Edinboro University to host free concert by music institute teachers, participants07/31/2013
The Edinboro University Music Department will present a free public concert on Friday, Aug. 2, at 8 p.m. in the Dr. William P. Alexander Music Center Recital Hall.
Participants and assistant teachers of The Art of Practicing Institute for Musicians currently in session at Edinboro University will perform. Led by master teacher Madeline Bruser of New York City, this week's institute features participants from Israel as well as Ottawa, Canada; Chicago; Boston; Rochester, N.Y.; Erie; and the states of Indiana, Tennessee and Minnesota. The musicians participating have degrees from the Juilliard School, Eastman School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Peabody Conservatory, Boston University, and the University of Michigan.
Focused upon "Mindfulness, Confidence & Performance: A Transformative Program for Musicians," the hour-long concert will feature world-famous trumpet soloist and conductor Stephen Burns and performers on piano, trumpet, viola, classical guitar, and tuba
