EU's Porreco College welcomes students to open house events04/15/2014
Porreco College will hold the first of seven weekly open house events introducing prospective students to the college’s excellent program offerings and new Porreco Promise scholarships on Wednesday, April 16, from 3 to 8 p.m.
Open houses for students and their families will be held each Wednesday through May 28 during the same hours, with an additional open house planned Saturday, May 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. All will be held at the Porreco College campus, 2951 W. 38th St., Erie. Those who attend the events can see the campus and learn more about its programs. They will have an opportunity to speak with financial aid and admissions representatives as well as with members of the Porreco College staff.
In March, Edinboro University announced the creation of the Porreco College as the Community’s College. Filling a major void in educational opportunities in the Erie region, the college makes workforce-ready degree and certificate programs available at community college prices.
The cost of full-time attendance for Erie County students enrolled in an associate degree or certificate program is just $2,341 per semester, thanks to a $3,000-per-year scholarship called the Porreco Promise. Students receiving federal and state financial aid will pay even less.
Offerings this fall will include:
- Certificate in Customer Relations Management
- Associate of Applied Science Degree in Applied Technology
- Associate of Arts Degree in Human Services – Social Services
- Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies
- Associate of Science Degree in Business Administration
No reservations are necessary to attend the open house events and learn about Porreco College’s highly affordable educational pathway to opportunity and success. Additional information is available at http://porreco.edinboro.edu or by calling the college at 836-1955.
