Edinboro University to host ‘Make-A-Wish® Celebration Night’02/25/2014
What: “Make-A-Wish® Celebration Night” this week will recognize the special relationship between Edinboro University’s athletic teams and the charity that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The excitement-filled event, to be held in conjunction with an EU basketball doubleheader, will include recognition of several wish recipients, fundraising activities for Make-A-Wish and the presentation of special NCAA recognition to the EU Athletic Department. The Fighting Scots raised $9,000 for Make-A-Wish in 2012-13, placing EU among the top five schools in Division II.
When/Where: Wednesday, February 26, beginning with the women’s basketball game vs. Clarion University at 5:30 p.m. and continuing through the men’s game, which begins at 7:30 p.m., in McComb Fieldhouse on the EU campus. Recognition of wish recipients will occur during the men’s game, with a special surprise planned at halftime. Halftime of the women’s game will include recognition of the athletic department’s fall award winners.
What else: It’s Senior Night, when the women’s and men’s teams will each honor six departing seniors before their start of their respective games. It’s also the last home doubleheader of the season and “Jam the Gym Night,” for which the Student Government Association and Student Athlete Advisory Committee have giveaways and other activities planned. It should be an action-packed night in a full and energy-filled house, perfect for video and still photography.
Media coverage of this event is strongly encouraged.
