Ms. Angela Burrows has joined Edinboro University as Assistant Vice President for Communications, Community and Public Relations, and Marketing. She began her work at EU on Sept. 11.
Burrows will oversee all aspects of Edinboro University’s internal and external marketing communications, as well as the relationship with the University’s outside marketing agency. That work will include acting as the chief spokesperson for the University, leading all community and public relations initiatives, and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and the President’s Executive Council.
“I’m delighted to be joining Edinboro University at this juncture. ‘Our Path Forward,’ recently released by President Walker and reflecting the work of a broad cross-section of the University community, provides clear direction and vision for a bright future. I look forward to working with the marketing communications team and colleagues across campus to promote the Edinboro story.”
An executive-level communications professional with nearly 20 years of experience in higher education, Ms. Burrows earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
She comes to EU after more than six years as Susquehanna University’s Chief Communications Officer. A member of the president’s leadership team, her work at Susquehanna included developing marketing communications strategies aimed at reputation building, bolstering student recruitment and fundraising and enhancing internal communications.
Prior to Susquehanna University, she served as the Vice President for University Relations at California University of Pennsylvania, Senior Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Point Park University and Director of Public Relations for Carnegie Mellon University’s H. John Heinz III School of Policy and Management (now the Heinz College).
“Ms. Burrows’ expertise, along with her previous experience working in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education, makes her an excellent fit for our university,” said EU President H. Fred Walker. “I have full confidence that her contributions will have an immediate impact at EU.”
