Edinboro University of Pennsylvania’s graduate-level educational psychology program is among the top 25 nationally, according to TheBestCollege’s.org.
The online resource and ranking system that researches institutions with accredited programs, awarded EU’s Master of Education in Educational Psychology the No. 21 spot among the Top 25 Online Master’s in Psychology Programs for 2018. The rankings were determined based on admissions selectivity, student loan default rates, retention and graduation rates and the percentage of students enrolled online.
Edinboro University is one of only two universities in Pennsylvania to be recognized. The list also included top national institutions such as Harvard University, University of Georgia and Penn State University.
“We are pleased that TheBestColleges.org recognizes Edinboro University’s academic excellence and is helping us to share that accomplishment beyond our campus,” said Dr. Erinn Lake, executive director of EU’s School of Graduate Studies and Research. “We are committed to continuous improvement in terms of student success and academic excellence, and we are not surprised by the company we keep in the rankings.”
EU’s 30-credit M.Ed. in Educational Psychology provides students with a broad theoretical and practical background in all areas of education and psychology. Designed to be completed in two years of part-time study, the program is offered entirely online through multiple methods of instruction and assessment.
“Online learning provides our students with a convenient medium to access dynamic and meaningful instruction from some of the best faculty in the nation,” said Dr. Edward Snyder, head of the Educational Psychology program at EU. “Though courses are taught online, students have direct access to faculty via the latest online video platforms.”
The accolade is the latest of several national recognitions that Edinboro University has received for academic excellence and value.
Additionally, EU’s online graduate education programs earned a top-tier ranking from U.S. News & World Report for 2017 based on faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, student engagement and admissions selectivity.
“Edinboro University is proudly celebrating 160 years of academic excellence and student success,” Dr. Lake said. “We are committed to our graduate students and their bright futures.”
