Edinboro University’s Music and Theatre Department will present the Fall Concert on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Louis C. Cole Auditorium.
The concert will include performances by the University Singers, University Chorale and Jazz Ensemble. The University Singers and University Chorale will perform “Gloria in Excelsis” by Antonio Vivaldi, “A Prayer for Tomorrow” by Carl Nygard and “For the Beauty of the Earth” by John Rutter, among other works.
The Jazz Ensemble’s performance will open with Jerome Kern’s “Ol Man River,” from the musical “Porgy and Bess,” pay tribute to jazz legend Duke Ellington with his “Caravan” and conclude with the Latin flavor of “Madrid” by Erik Morales.
The University Singers are Edinboro University’s concert choir. The University Chorale is a chamber ensemble selected by audition from the University Singers. Both are conducted by Craig McGaughey and accompanied by pianist Regena Shirley. The Jazz Ensemble is conducted by Chuck Lute. McGaughey and Lute are both music faculty members at Edinboro.
