Cappy Counard Metalwork in International Exhibition
Cappy Counard, a professor of jewelry and metals at Edinboro University, incorporates seeds into many of her creations as a representation of human potential.
As a result of that and other accomplishments, her artistic potential has come into full fruition during the past year. Counard’s work was recently selected for inclusion in a number of juried art exhibitions, one of them an international online exhibition called “Metal Inclinations 2.”
“People from all over the world applied, so the competition was stiff,” she said. “They only chose 50 pieces, and two of them are mine.”
Counard’s pieces, titled “Shift” and “Passage,” are in fact two small brooches with delicate details etched into the metal. news release
