          Guiyou Huang, Ph.D., became Edinboro University’s 19th president on July 1, 2019. Prior to his appointment, he served for two and a half years as Chancellor of Louisiana State University at Alexandria (LSUA). Before joining LSUA in 2017, he served as Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs & Dean of the Faculty at Norwich University, Vermont; Dean of the Biscayne College of Liberal Arts and Dean of Undergraduate Studies & Programs at St. Thomas University, Florida. In addition, he held numerous other leadership roles in both public and private institutions, including Honors College Director at Grand Valley State University, Michigan; Chair of the English Department and Director of the University Honors Program at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.

          Dr. Huang taught a diverse range of courses in American literature and literary theory at both the graduate and undergraduate levels at universities in the U.S. and China, including Lehigh University, Texas A&M University, Beijing University and Qufu Normal University. He is the author and editor of 13 books and more than 60 printed articles and essays, and he has made more than 100 presentations and keynote speeches at national and international conferences in North America, Asia and Europe. His most recent publication is a co-edited book titled, “Technology Leadership for Innovation in Higher Education,” released in February 2019.

          Dr. Huang holds honorary professorships at a number of international institutions, as well as certificates in MLE (Management and Leadership in Education) and IEM (Institute for Educational Management) from Harvard. He was a Visiting Scholar with ETS in Princeton and served on the College Board SAT Critical Reading Test Development Committee. In addition, he serves on numerous national and international organizations, including the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations.
