Celebrating 50 years of Educational Equity
June 23, 2022, will mark the 50th anniversary of Title IX – the landmark federal legislation that prohibits gender discrimination in educational programs and activities that receive federal funding. Among the most significant pieces of civil rights legislation in U.S. history, Title IX created academic and athletic opportunities for women and girls at all educational levels, including thousands of Edinboro alumni.
Join us as we honor the history and societal impact of Title IX and reflect on 50 years of progress, while bringing attention to current challenges, needs and aspirations. Our yearlong, campus-wide celebration will illustrate the firsthand struggles and triumphs of our current and former student-athletes and highlight the transformative experiences made possible through women-serving scholarships, funds and special initiatives.

Help us kick off Homecoming 2022! Join us as we honor the history and societal impact of Title IX and reflect on 50 years of progress while bringing attention to current challenges, needs and aspirations.
All proceeds from this fun-filled night benefits women student-athletes!
Katherine Robbins, Director of Athletics states, “I don't think it's a coincidence that I am celebrating my 50th birthday in the same year we are celebrating the passing of Title IX and its provision for gender equity in sports. I benefitted from the opportunities I had as a female athlete from a young age, and I consider it a privilege to serve as a leader and ambassador for women's sports as the Director of Athletics. “
Here at Edinboro, this semicentennial celebration is an opportunity to recognize the strong women that have broken barriers and paved the way for future generations. They’ve proved for decades that Fighting Scots always persevere.
Stay up to date on all elements of our Title IX recognition and support women athletes today!
