Connect people to much-needed resources.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of social work is projected to grow by 15% during the next 10 years - faster than most other occupations.
During your final semester of the Bachelor of Social Work program, you will have the opportunity for extensive hands-on learning through an internship with a social service organization. You will spend four full days per week at your internship site and work under the supervision of a professional social worker. This experience not only enhances your education, but also provides networking opportunities that often lead to full-time employment after graduation. Sites include:
Child welfare agencies
Drug and alcohol treatment facilities
It’s never too soon to start thinking about what comes after your undergraduate degree. Here’s what you’ll need to apply for the program:
Your Bachelor of Social Work degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Copies of field internship evaluations.
A supportive letter from your undergraduate field supervisor.
A personal statement of your commitment to the field.
Two letters of reference that show your readiness for advanced social work practice.
