History, Politics, Languages and Cultures Department
Edinboro University History, Politics, Languages and Cultures Department students enjoy state-of the-art learning facilities, located primarily in Hendricks Hall, one of the University’s busiest classroom buildings.
The Department’s Oral History Studio and Collection contains more than 600 interviews with people from the region and houses collections on Italian American Women, Sisters of St. Joseph, Women in World War II, Men in World War II, Latinos, Race-Gender-Ethnicity, Erie Illusion and more.
Students interested in learning a foreign language are encouraged to take advantage of the Department’s World Languages Lab. Rosetta Stone languages include Arabic, Farsi, French, Gaelic, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Polish and Spanish. The lab also includes English for ESL students.
A Student Resource and Study Center is maintained by the History Department and is a warm and inviting location for students to study, receive tutoring services and use various academic resources.
Hendricks Hall is home to several of the university’s academic departments and labs. In addition to History, Politics, Languages and Cultures and its resources, the departments of Business and Economics, and ROTC—as well as the crime scene investigation lab and computer forensics lab—call the building home.
