Early Childhood and Reading
The Friends of Music organization supports and serves PennWest Edinboro through promotion of events, donation of instruments and equipment, fundraising for scholarships and much more.
The Friends of Music represents a large and energetic group that actively supports the Early Childhood and Reading Department at PennWest Edinboro. It was established in 2000 by a small group of faculty, alumni and friends of the university's Early Childhood and Reading Department.
The organization seek to promote performances; create and provide scholarships for talented students who may have financial needs; assist with and fund special projects; purchase instruments and equipment; sponsor guest artists; and create endowments for professorships, visiting professors and performers and artists-in-residence.
The Friends of Music helped to purchase the pianos in the Dr. William P. Alexander Music Center Recital Hall and practice rooms, as well as the Steinway Grand Piano D that is now on the stage at Louis C. Cole Auditorium.
Please contact the Early Childhood and Reading Department at 814-732-2555 if you would like to make a donation. For additional information on supporting PennWest Edinboro students, visit our donations page.
