Story starts here attending Edinboro University has been a huge asset to my accomplishments. Edinboro’s program in Mathematics and Secondary Education Mathematics allowed me to gain the knowledge and skills to further my academic career.
I obtained my master's degree at the University of Akron in Theoretical Mathematics. Gaining experience at EU through the variety of classes, field experience, exploring and presenting undergraduate research, and working in the department set me above others as I entered my graduate career. In addition, EU's Middle & Secondary and Educational Leadership Department ensures its students master unique pedagogical practices and strategies to become top-ranked teachers. Along with learning these strategies, EU's School of Education ensures students obtain well-rounded, hands-on practice in a variety of classroom field experiences.
These opportunities and skills I learned from EU aided in my obtaining a summer position on the mathematics instructional staff for Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth as well as my new position as a professor of mathematics at the State College of Florida. I would not be where I am today without the opportunities, support and guidance from the Department of Mathematics, the Department of Secondary Education and Edinboro University's astounding faculty.
