After graduation, I will be starting my job at Bank of America – Merrill Wealth Management as part of their Financial Advisor Development Program in Pittsburgh. Prior to Edinboro, I had attended a different university and was not sure what I wanted to do with my Economics degree. Once I made my decision to transfer to Edinboro University, I had a conversation with Dr. Michael Engdahl, chair of the Business and Economics Department, about the Personal Financial Planning (PFP) minor that the university offers. He informed me about the many opportunities within this field and how the minor was aligned with my interests.
After my first PFP class, I immediately fell in love, and I knew that I had found my career path. Edinboro’s Personal Financial Planning major/minor is an amazing program with extremely dedicated professors, led by Dr. Michael Engdahl and Dr. Shaun Pfeiffer. They provide the students with numerous networking opportunities and adequately prepare them for life after Edinboro. Two of my fellow classmates, Derrick Goodenow and Jonathan Frawley, and I had decided to start the Personal Financial Planning Club to make sure the program continues to flourish and the students continue to be provided with opportunities. Since starting the club, we now have over 40 active members and are continuing to grow. This is one of my biggest accomplishments here at Edinboro.
I truly feel that Edinboro provides its students the resources and opportunities they need in order to be successful. I have really enjoyed my time here and am proud to be a Scot!
