          Learning Technology Services

The Learning Technology staff provide learning technology, such as distance education, classroom technology and more, to students, faculty and staff.

Learning Technology Services (LTS) are facilitated and maintained by a dedicated team of managers and students workers, and their roles include the provision of support and training in the following key areas.

          Faculty Development Center (FDC)

The Faculty Development Center is a technology and training resource provided for Edinboro faculty. The Center includes current PCs and Macs with a range of instructional authoring software and tools. Support is provided by LTS staff who can facilitate one-on-one sessions or group consultations.

Faculty will soon have 24-hour access to the Center using an ID card swipe. Currently, the Center is open during regular office hours.

The FDC includes the following equipment:

          • Graphic tablets
          • Headsets
          • Webcams
          • Microphones
          • Scanner
          • Printer

The Center includes the following ‘Content Authoring Software’:

          • Adobe Suite
          • Articulate Storyline/Studio
          • SoftChalk Create
          • Camtasia Studio

          Distance Education

The Distance Education staff can provide support and training on all the key products being used by our online faculty. Dr. Jim Boulder, Manager of Online Programs and Instructional Design, and Sandy Dell, LMS Administrator, are available to consult on all aspects of course design and development. They’re the key contacts for the following online tools:

          • D2L
          • BB Collaborate
          • My MediaSite
          • Lockdown Browser
          • Turnitin
          • Monitor

More information on Distance Education can be found here, and Online Campus Support can be found at myEdinboro.

          Professional Development

The Learning Technology Services staff is committed to furthering the professional development of faculty and staff by hosting a variety of development opportunities each month. The offered services include instruction on current PCs and Macs with a range of educational authoring software and tools. Each month, the LTS staff hosts a variety of professional development sessions in a dedicated 14-seat computer lab. View and register for these trainings and events here.

In addition to staff-hosted development opportunities, the FDC also has access to the complete catalog of Lynda.com, a self-paced training website. View the full listing of Lynda.com educational videos here.

As the calendar of events changes, faculty and staff are encouraged to provide recommendations and requests for additional professional development opportunities and topics such as workshops, webinars, guest speakers, focus groups or similar. Submit your requests to Dr. Jim Boulder at jboulder@edinboro.edu
