The mission of the Arts LLC is to enhance the out-of-classroom experience for studio artists, graphic designers, writers, animators and filmmakers, as well as students interested in theater and similar artistic pursuits. Located in Highlands 4, Arts LLC allows residents to experience a strong sense of imaginative fellowship through critique nights, group projects and studio time. The scholar-in-residence is an upper-class art major who connects artists, offers community service opportunities such as mural design, and promotes cultural events in the nearby cities of Erie, Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
The Education LLC provides students with a variety of educational and social programs. Throughout the academic year, student residents become a community of learners who can gain knowledge from and share experiences with one another. A scholar is available to help with coursework, purchase school supplies and necessities that other communities do not receive, and arrange social and educational trips, as well as in-community events. Located in Highlands 3, the Education LLC provides Edinboro University students with pathways to numerous educational resources that are unique to the teaching profession.
The eSports learning community at Edinboro University is a unique program for students interested in gaming, either as a member of the eSports program or as a recreational gamer. The learning community brings peers together who have a love of competitive gaming and would like to take their game to a higher level. eSports will be located in Highlands 6.
Healthy U is a residential community of Edinboro University students committed to fostering healthy bodies, brains and fitness regardless of fitness level. HealthyU students share wellness tips, have overlapping interests with student athletes and may major in Health & Physical Education. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of wellness programs, special events and workshops including reducing anxiety, coping skills and fitness-based workshops. Healthy U will be located in Highlands 6.
The Honors Community provides an avenue for high-achieving students in all majors to dialogue and benefit from each other's strengths and various curriculums. Located in Highlands 1, this LLC provides convenient access to the Honors Program Office, the Honors library and Pogue Student Center's Celtic Court dining facility.
The Pre-Health Sciences community plans field trips to the Carnegie Science Center, movie nights and other interactive events to enable resident students across Pre-Health Science fields to know one another. Participants make connections beyond the classroom and active participants in this LLC benefit not only during their Edinboro student years but also as Edinboro University alum. The scholar-in-residence focuses on tutoring hours and group study sessions and offers key study events during mid-term and final exam times. Pre-Health Sciences is located in Highlands 5.
The Pre-Law learning community at Edinboro University is a unique program for students interested in legal pursuits, whether they are criminal justice or pre-law studies. The learning community brings together peers who will be working in similar circles as lawyers and in law enforcement, the Office of Homeland Security and elected office. Opportunities for political dialogue and engagement with legal professionals are incorporated into this academically rigorous community. The Pre-Law learning community is located in Highlands 3.
ROTC students study military science as participants in Edinboro University's ROTC program, located in Towers A hall. This LLC provides convenient access to McComb Fieldhouse as well as Pogue Student Center's Celtic Court dining facility. Students study, get involved with community service and further develop leadership skills in conjunction with military science courses.
The Social Work LLC is designed to support and enhance the experience of students enrolled in the Social Work program as well as students who are interested in creating change in their communities. This LLC will foster personal and professional growth by providing opportunities for students to engage with like-minded people who are passionate about helping others, to explore the many careers in social work with guest speakers, and to enhance knowledge of issues that affect vulnerable populations through volunteering and hosting events and movies.
