It’s official. T-Pain is Edinboro University’s spring concert artist. The University Programming Board (UPB) announced last Friday at a reveal party, and students are already tweeting, posting and making plans to see the two-time Grammy winner.
“I can’t wait,” said Ariel Slaven, a junior at EU. “It’s going to be like a big party.”
Until Feb. 22, students can purchase tickets for the discounted price of $10. All purchases must be accompanied by a valid student ID. After the rush, student tickets increase to $15, and students may purchase up to two. Tickets are available at (814) 734-2177 or the Pogue Student Center C-Store from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Beginning Feb. 26, general admission tickets will be available to the public at the Pogue Student Center C-Store or online at www.edinborotickets.com.
Last semester, a university-wide email was sent to students inviting them to vote on the genre of the spring concert. The results were overwhelmingly hip-hop/rap. T-Pain was chosen from the list of artists that resulted from that survey and research.
T-Pain made his name with his hits like “Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin),” “I’m Sprung,” “Bartender” and “I'm N’Love.”
“The student body's reaction being so positive makes us very happy with the decision,” said Alie Woodward, a graduate assistant for UPB. “We look forward to Edinboro having a blast at the T-Pain concert.”
The concert will take place at EU’s McComb Fieldhouse on May 5. The doors open at 5 p.m., followed by the show at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for $30.
