Mental Health Day on April 2

Sign[The following email was sent to the campus community on Monday, March 22]

You have recognized that you need a break and we agree.  Friday, April 2, has been designated as a mental health day with all classes canceled.

We understand the intense pressure you have felt throughout the pandemic, so we want to honor your request – and need – for a brief respite. Please use the time to rest and recharge as we enter the last few weeks of a difficult year.

Keep in mind that safety guidelines remain in place and we all must continue to follow them.  They include avoiding unnecessary travel and gathering in large groups, continuing to practice physical distancing, wearing a mask and washing your hands frequently.

For students who remain on campus, there are many opportunities for recreation in the Edinboro area:

As a reminder, the University offers voluntary COVID-19 testing for students as part of our COVID Surveillance Testing Program. We encourage all students to take advantage of this free testing program. Please contact Student Health Services (814-732-2743) to schedule a test.

Self-care can be very helpful. More information about how to practice positive self-care can be found here and here.

Please take care of yourselves. Rest, remain safe, and enjoy the start of spring.

Go Boro!

Dr. Dale-Elizabeth Pehrsson, Interim President
