Edinboro celebrates the academic success of nearly 700 students
EDINBORO, Pa. – Mill Village, Pa., native Bradley Peters, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations, represented the Class of 2021 during Edinboro University’s virtual undergraduate commencement ceremony on May 8.
Peters, who graduated summa cum laude while working as an instructional technologist at Edinboro, became involved in both the radio and television stations at Edinboro – shooting video of football games, producing news programs and hosting his own radio show.
“As we begin this new chapter of our lives, I want to thank Edinboro and everyone here that prepared us for what is next,” said Peters, who encouraged the Class of 2021 to continue working towards their lifelong goals. “I want to promise that on behalf of the Edinboro University graduating class of 2021 that we will continue to strive to make our Edinboro family proud, and we will continue to change this world for the better.”
Edinboro University celebrated the academic success of Peters and 673 undergraduate and graduate students on Saturday. Interim President Dr. Dale-Elizabeth Pehrsson presided over the virtual ceremonies and the in-person recognition events.
In the Class of 2021, 518 students earned bachelor’s and associate degrees, while 155 students earned graduate and post-baccalaureate degrees.
Peters became a student worker in the Learning Technologies Department at Edinboro University during his sophomore year. In this position, he supported many different events for the university including outdoor movies, presidential addresses and assisted in resolving technology issues for students and employees.
In his current role, he continues to support events as well as help in design of new high-tech teaching spaces.
Peters is the son of Bill – an electrician at Edinboro University – and Donna and the brother of Kylie Peters. He celebrates his success with his girlfriend, Teresa Nichols.
Other speakers include Dr. Dale-Elizabeth Pehrsson (Interim President), Dr. Michael Hannan (Provost), Kyle Hurysz (Council of Trustees) and Mark Eisert (Alumni Association).
