Edinboro University offers adults students the opportunity to apply past credits or experience toward their degree, allowing adult students to complete a degree program at an accelerated pace.
Edinboro University offers specific programs to assess student requests for undergraduate credits that reflect prior learning acquired in a nontraditional manner.
You may be eligible for credit for knowledge in a particular subject area or experience gained in an alternative way. EU encourages adult students to apply for credits toward their degree requirements through the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), competency exams, and life experience credits.
Up to 45 credits may be earned under these programs (no more than 30 credits under any single program).
Please note: You cannot receive credit for a course under any of these programs if you are currently enrolled in the course and/or have previously received a letter grade for the course (including, but not limited to, an F, W, AU or I) or if you are in a provisional admittance program such as Fresh Start, the Edinboro Success Program or College Start.
In addition, students may also be eligible for credit from coursework earned through
another university. Transfer credits are determined at the time of application or reinstatement and are not included in
the 45-credit limit placed on the other three prior learning assessment programs.
