Edinboro University is committed to helping transfer and adult students achieve their goals of earning a college degree. The Office of Transfer Adult Student Services offers a number of ways to assist students and to ensure their continued success.
Priority scheduling offers adult students an advantage in managing their already hectic schedules by
allowing them to schedule their classes one day before traditional-aged students with
the same class standing.
As a transfer or adult student, one of the most significant concerns is how to find
the time to complete a degree. With locations in Edinboro and Erie as well as evening
and online learning opportunities, it's easy to fit classes into your busy life. The
option of taking one class at a time or several helps fit education into your personal
schedule.
In addition to the on-campus tutoring programs and writing center, EU students have
access to free online tutoring 24 hours per day, seven days per week through a company
called Smarthinking. Ninety percent of Smarthinking's tutors hold advanced degrees
in their field and average more than nine years of teaching or tutoring experience.
The Adult Learner Advisory Council is the representative body for Edinboro University's adult students and monitors
the recruitment, success and satisfaction of adult learners.
Alpha Sigma Lamda, an adult honor society at Edinboro University, is a national organization with more
than 300 chapters across the country.
Child care is offered through the YMCA of Greater Erie's Early Learning University (ELU) on the EU campus.
EU offers an array of study lounges in buildings across campus. Those that are particularly
appealing to adult students include a lounge that is open 24 hours a day, seven days
per week, and a commuter lounge that is equipped with computers, a TV, refrigerator,
and lockers.
We offer support for veterans through the Veterans Success Center, which provides aid for military veterans, current service members and their dependents.
