About the FAFSA

 

The FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is the main application you need to complete to be considered for grants, loans, or work study aid. It's the basis of your entire financial aid package, so it's very important to submit it on time every year!

Filing Deadlines

Aid is awarded each Spring for the upcoming Fall, Spring and Summer terms.

FAFSA Workshops

PennWest Edinboro offers FAFSA Workshops each spring to help students and their families complete their FAFSA completely and accurately, and to answer any questions.

Workshops listed at the Edinboro location will be held in Butterfield Hall Computer Lab 104. Those listed at Porreco will be held in the Porreco Computer Lab.

No registration is necessary, but computer availability will be first-come, first-served.

Students will need to bring the following:

  1. FSA ID for student (and parent, if dependent). You can obtain an FSA ID at the website fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm
  2. Social Security number for students and parents
  3. Driver's license if you have one
  4. Alien Registration Number if you are not a U.S. citizen
  5. Your federal tax return and W2s for both the student and the parent
  6. Records of any untaxed income
  7. Information on savings, investments and business/farm
