Degree Programs
  • Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences
  • Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology

B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences
  • Pre-professional program that provides an understanding of how human communication develops from newborns to the elderly
  • Curriculum addresses linguistic, cognitive, anatomical, physiological, physical bases of normal human communication
  • Program began in 1960 and graduates have attended graduate programs in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology at more than 50 different universities

M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) since 1991
  • Prepares graduates for national certification and licensure in Pennsylvania in speech-language pathology
  • Prepares graduates to work in the scope of practice of speech-language pathology, including articulation, language, hearing, voice, fluency, deglutition, augmentative and alternative communication, cognitive aspects of communication, and social aspects of communication
  • Curriculum blends coursework and clinical experiences to gain essential knowledge and skills
  • Graduates have consistently earned passing rates and median scores on the national examination in speech-language pathology that are above the national average

Governor George Leader Speech and Hearing Center
  • Provides services for the assessment and treatment of speech, language, and hearing problems in children and adults
  • Services provided by graduate students under the direct supervision of licensed and nationally certified members of the faculty
  • Fee-for-service with sliding fee scale
