Music and theatre have the ability to lift our spirits and feed our souls. That’s why they have always been an important part of the proud tradition at Edinboro University. Whether you participate in ensembles, take music courses, or perform on stage, you can hone your craft in music and theatre while you pursue other academic endeavors.

Regardless of your major, you will enhance your musical abilities under the guidance of internationally recognized musicians. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in numerous concerts and events both on and off campus, and enjoy the camaraderie of other liked-minded students. Or, you can combine a Minor in Music with just about any academic major. A Minor in Music will increase your understanding of music, sharpen your musical performance and analytical skills - and improve your marketability in the current job market.

Fighting Scots live, work, and play in state-of-the-art facilities on EU’s picturesque 585-acre campus. Located just 20 miles south of Erie, Pennsylvania’s fourth-largest city, Edinboro is bustling with exciting activities.

Are you interested in learning how to sing or play an instrument? The Community Music School at Edinboro University is dedicated to teaching children and adults of all ages how to play, read and appreciate music. Lessons are available year-round and are a great way to begin or enhance your musical expertise.

At Edinboro, three unique facilities contribute to the professional experience of students as well as the enjoyment of concert patrons:

The $5 million William P. Alexander Music Center features a 104-seat recital hall, 17 soundproof music studios and 14 piano studios, as well as a listening laboratory, library and classroom space.

The renovated Louis C. Cole Auditorium-Memorial Hall seats 850 and serves as the University’s primary large-scale performance venue.

The historic Diebold Center for the Performing Arts houses theatre activities, and hosts many performances, lectures and conferences.
