            The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science prepares students for employment and/or for the pursuit of advanced degrees by providing fundamental theory and critical thinking skills enhanced with practical experience. The Department strives to provide an environment that promotes rich collaboration, respect, service and desire for life-long learning within our diverse community.

            A strong foundation in mathematics and computer science provides the basis for clear reasoning and problem solving, and professionals in virtually all disciplines recognize the importance of mastering computer skills, developing problem-solving competence and studying mathematics. When students develop their abilities in mathematics and computer science, they move from using the logical models proposed by others to being able to create new approaches for the problems and technologies of tomorrow.
