Theta Chi Hosts Philanthropy Event
At 8 P.M. on Thursday, October 11, 2007, the brothers of Theta Chi hosted a philanthropy event at Miller Hall Gym. Evan Wetzel, a Theta Chi alumnus, is a comedian from Long Island, New York. All fraternities and sororities were well represented to support the brothers of Theta Chi Fraternity. A Chinese auction was held which yielded numerous monetary and gift prizes. All donations and money collected from the Chinese auction went towards the Theta Chi Foundation. The Theta Chi Foundation organizes, administers and operates: the Annual Campaign, the Planned Giving Program, the Undergraduate Giving Program, and the Chapter Specific Scholarship Fund program. Programs of the foundation also include the sale of Old South Barracks bricks and other special projects that have been in development as Theta Chi Fraternity celebrated their 150th Anniversary in 2006.
Theta Chi Fratenity is an international college fraternity for men. Fouded on April 10, 1856 at Norwich University in Norwich, Vermont, Theta Chi is one of the 64 men's fraternities in the North American Interfraternity Conference. With 131 active chapters throughout the nation, Theta Chi has initiated over 156 thousand brothers and initiating such famous men such as filmmaker Steven Spielberg, automobile executive Lee Iacocca, and two Doolittle Raid pilots, Ross Greening and Harold Watson.
