The Health Promotion track prepares students to compete for the increasing number of employment opportunities in the areas of Health Promotion and disease prevention. This inter-disciplinary degree combines coursework from the areas of health education, exercise science, communication, philosophy, psychology, and electives from areas of special interest. A full semester internship serves as the capstone course for the Health Promotion track providing students with valuable experience in settings such as state and local health departments, corporate wellness programs, public health agencies, hospitals and HMOs, and health clubs. After completion of the track, graduates are eligible to take the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) examination from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC).
