Dr. Peter van den Honert is Director of Choral Activities at Edinboro University, conducting the University Singers and University Chorale. He also teaches choral conducting, and Choral Arranging, and is a past member of the ACDA PA state Board of Directors. He has a special interest in New England folk songs, and has published several choral arrangements of them. Prior to his appointment at Edinboro he held a similar position at Kansas Wesleyan University. He also taught middle and high school vocal/choral music in the suburban Chicago area before returning for his doctorate at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. He is listed in Who's Who Among American Educators, Who's Who in Collegiate Faculty, and received a Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Special Citation for Excellence in Teaching in 2003. He is active as an adjudicator and clinician, and has served as an honor festival guest conductor in several states.
