Office for Students with Disabilities

We're here for you!

The Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) provides support services for students with documented disabilities.

OSD MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Edinboro University’s Office for Students with Disabilities is to promote confidence and independent functioning of students as well as educate and increase understanding of students with disabilities in the college community.  We recognize our role in promoting the full participation of all people in the global community.  As an integral part of the University’s infrastructure, the services provided by the Office for Students with Disabilities benefit the administrators, faculty, staff as well as regional agencies and organizations.

In order to educate the community regarding their legal, moral and ethical responsibilities to individuals with disabilities, we will maintain the highest level of professional development.  We will solicit student input as an essential component to the formation of future goals.  Educational innovations will require adapting our services to meet the needs of an ever-changing student community.

Any student requiring an accommodation must request such services directly from the Office for Students with Disabilities.  All accommodation requests must be consistent with documented needs of the student requesting such accommodations.  Requests for accommodation may not be honored without documentation of a disability as defined by the parameters of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and any subsequent amendments.
