Institutional Research

Institutional research supports the University's planning process by providing accurate institutional data. Support is also given to the State System of Higher Education for the data warehouse project, the Fact Book, the SnyderReport (faculty productivity and assignment report), the CSRDE (retention) report, the State System of Higher Education performance indicators, the common data set among many others.  In fact, IR staff complete more than 200 internal and external surveys annually such as the College Board, U.S. News and World Report, etc., on behalf of the University.  Support is also given to the broader campus in the form of SNAP® an online survey software system.  The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson's, part of The Thomson Corporation, and U.S. News & World Report.  The combined goal of this collaboration is to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student's transition into higher education, as well as to reduce the reporting burden on data providers.
