Military Science Instructor

SFC Tagami entered the Army from El Paso, Texas in SEP 1998 and attended Basic and AIT at Fort Benning, GA and was awarded the MOS 11C.  SFC Tagami has held every position from Gunner to Platoon Sergeant in a Mortar Platoon.  He has served with 60 mm, 81 mm and 120mm Mortar units in Infantry, Armor and Cavalry Regiments.  He has also, served as a Basic Officer Leader Course Phase II instructor at Ft. Sill, OK.

His assignments include: 2nd Battalion 5th Infantry Regiment, Schofield Barracks, HI, 1st Battalion 67th Armor Regiment, Ft. Hood, TX, 1st Battalion 22nd Field Artillery Battalion (BOLC II) and 1st Battalion 13th Cavalry Regiment, Ft. Bliss, TX .  He has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

His military schooling and courses include: Combat Life Saver course, Air Assault Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Total Army Instructor Trainers Course, Modern Army Combatives Program Course Level 1 and 2, the Senior Leaders Course, Rappel Master Course, and the Company Intelligence Support Team Course.

His awards and decorations include: The Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, the Valorous Unit Award, the Good conduct medal with 4 knots , the National Defense Service Medal , the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with star, the Iraq Campaign Medal with 5 bronze stars, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal , the Global War on Terrorism Service medal, the NCO Professional Development ribbon with numeral 3, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral  4, the NATO Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Air Assault Badge.  He has also been inducted into the Order of St Maurice (Centurion) and the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, Fort Hood Chapter.
