Electronics Recycling Service is Back

Technology and Communications has been allocated space in the basement of Ross Hall to store old, broken and unsupported electronic equipment which will be processed for recycling.  Edinboro University has a contract with the Federal Prison Industries, Inc (UNICOR) Recycling Business Group allowing practically all types of electronic devices (computers, televisions, printers and such) to be packaged on to pallets and shipped to one of their facilities where they will extract all the precious metals and hazardous materials and recycle the remaining components.  Technology and Communications facilitates this service by collecting the old electronic items and when we fill enough pallets for a truck load we have the items shipped accordingly.  If you have any old electronic equipment that needs recycled, please fill out a facilities web work request which can be found on the Facilities Department web page at http://facilitiesweb.eup.edinboro.edu/ (under services) to have your equipment picked up by the Facilities staff and delivered to Ross Hall.  If any of the electronic equipment has an EUP Fixed Asset tag attached, you also need to fill out a Fixed Asset form which is available at http://departments.edinboro.edu/financeadmin/accounting.html and deliver the form to the Accounting office.  Please note that Technology and Communications maintains a list of supported equipment which can be referenced at the following link: http://departments.edinboro.edu/tac/supportedtechnology.html .  We review all equipment sent to us to ensure that it does not still have a useable life before we process it for recycling.  For questions regarding our recycling services, please email DJ Bradley (bradley@edinboro.edu) or call him at extension 1030.
