Welcome to Edinboro University's Commitment to Student Success

Greetings!

Welcome to Edinboro University, the region’s largest and most comprehensive institution of higher education and the place where great things happen.

We have designed our website with students in mind. We have made this site user-friendly when navigating the many pages and especially easy to locate the exact information you’re seeking.

As you use this site, you’ll learn of the University’s long and rich 154-year history and of our many successes since the birth of the Edinboro Academy in 1857. But, more importantly, you’ll learn that we’re committed to your success here at Edinboro, at our Porreco Center Campus in Erie, the Buba Center Campus in Meadville, and your successful life after Edinboro.

Indeed, Edinboro University is student-centered with more than 100 academic majors, challenging honors programs, diverse graduate degree and certification programs, nationally acclaimed online and distance education, men’s and women’s NCAA varsity sports, 130 clubs and organizations, a vibrant Greek life and a faculty and staff dedicated to student success. In a word, Edinboro students thrive!

On this website, you’ll also learn of the winning combination of modern and historic buildings on our nearly 600-acre campus, deployment of  the latest 21st Century technology at all levels of learning, and myriad year-around cultural activities to sate every interest, all part of what has been called the Edinboro Experience.

We’re proud of our historic roots and prouder still of the many successes and accomplishments of Edinboro University alumni – now more than 60,000 strong – who have made a positive difference in every profession. From corner offices to doctors’ offices, from boardrooms to classrooms and courtrooms, from art galleries to feature length animated motion pictures, from careers in the CIA and the state police to those in highest levels of government and military service – and most occupations in between – Edinboro graduates have succeeded in the global job market.

Here, you’ll find Edinboro recognizes that one size doesn’t fit all – and every effort is made to accommodate our 8,500 students’ diverse wants and needs by offering the region’s most affordable college education in a safe learning environment. And, if you like what you see here – you’ll love our look and feel in person! Feel free to visit our campus at any time – stroll through our beautiful grounds, explore the buildings and facilities, and please take time to talk with faculty, staff and current students.

You’ll find we are constantly evolving to meet today’s students’ specialized higher education needs. And, when you’re an Edinboro student, we’ll meet your needs as well!

Sincerely,

Jim Moran, Interim President
