AWARD CRITERIA
The Faculty of the Year Award recognizes current Edinboro University faculty who demonstrate outstanding service to the University, students and our neighboring communities.
University faculty, staff, students, Trustees, alumni and retired faculty and staff are invited to submit nominations of tenured and tenure-track faculty for the Faculty of the Year Award. Nominations should highlight the nominee's accomplishments, contributions and achievements that have occurred during the most recent calendar year. Specific examples will reinforce and strengthen the nomination.
Ensure that your nomination is thorough and complete. Nominations that do not address the criteria listed below or lack sufficient information may be disqualified.
Teaching effectiveness
· Models innovative teaching techniques
· Demonstrates a knowledge of the discipline
· Sets realistic expectations for students
· Shows an enthusiasm for teaching
· Motivates and instills a love of learning
Interpersonal skills
· Respects students
· Shows a personal interest in students
· Provides a fair, trustworthy atmosphere for learning
· Inspires students to achieve
· Makes a positive impact in the lives of students
Professional growth
· Furthers personal and professional goals through widespread academic, social and extra-curricular involvement
· Shows evidence of ongoing professional learning
Service to the University
· Participates on departmental and university-wide committees
· Assumes a leadership role within the university
· Shows a commitment to projects that benefit the University
Contributions to the community/region

Once your nomination is received, we will inform your nominee that he or she will be required to provide the following to the committee for review:

· Curriculum Vitae
