Baron-Forness Library

One of the largest and most comprehensive academic libraries in northwestern Pennsylvania, Baron-Forness Library is a seven-story landmark that houses approximately 300,000 volumes and 680,000 microform units and provides access to more than 100 full-text journal databases, reserve materials, software, equipment and more.

The Library's catalog provides a web-based resource for identifying and locating books, periodicals, media and other resident materials. Along with its search functionalities, this sophisticated tool enables library users to access their library accounts and renew materials online. Additionally, library users have access to the online "EZBorrow" shared library catalog to access materials from 60+ academic libraries in the region. Students also have access to hundreds of popular feature films, documentaries and television shows on DVD; 25,000 e-book titles; and 15,000 streaming video files.

To meet the ever-changing needs of technological advancement, the library has made access to many important indexes and databases in the various academic disciplines accessible from any networked or Wi-Fi enabled device. The vast majority of the library's electronic offerings are also available remotely to meet the needs of the growing number of commuter and distance education students.

Inside the Baron-Forness Library, students will find such amenities as a coffee shop on the first floor and a two-story atrium lobby that provides display space for art exhibits. Also housed in the building are computer labs, the Academic Success Center, the Writing Center and the University Archives and Special Collections.
