Community Music School

Further your education and expand skills by taking Personal Enrichment and Professional Development courses through Edinboro University. We offer courses at Edinboro University, at Porreco College, and online. 

In addition, we offer customized employee training for businesses and organizations through Contract Training, Leadership University and WEDnetPA. These classes can be completed on campus or at a location of your choice. Many are available online, as well.

Title IX Coordinator Training

Course Fee: $375

This course is designed for Title IX Coordinators who have responsibility for overseeing Title IX compliance and investigations at their school. Attendees will learn how to manage and fully investigate a complaint of sexual misconduct from start to finish with special emphasis on complying with OCR Guidelines. The class will include opportunities for discussion and participating in case studies and practical exercises. Learners will also receive instruction on proper records management. The primary focus of the training is on the Title IX Coordinator’s duties and responsibilities.

Basic Title IX for Administrators Who Investigate

This class is designed for administrators and investigators who have responsibility for conducting and overseeing Title IX compliance and sexual misconduct from start to finish with special emphasis on complying with the Title IX and 1997, 2001, 2008 and 2011 guidelines from the Office of Civil Rights. The class will include opportunities for discussion and participation incase studies and practical exercises. Learners will also receive instruction on proper records management. Certificates of Completion are provided.

Self-Care for Human Service Providers

This six-hour workshop is designed to help human service professionals identify and manage the stress and fatigue inherent in working with clients in the health and mental health field. It includes didactic presentations as well as experiential exercises and practice to shift and revitalize your energy and perspective. The workshop is appropriate for Social Workers, Counselors, Therapists, Substance Abuse and Alcohol Counselors, Nurses, Doctors, Teachers and Ministers.

The Department of Music and Theatre at Edinboro University offers members of the Edinboro, Erie, Meadville and surrounding communities private instruction on various musical instruments and voice. If you or your child is interested in beginning or continuing music instruction, please consider the Community Music School as an option.
