If you are a first-time university student or a student with fewer than 12 completed university credit hours, you are considered a first-year student.

If you have met Edinboro University's academic requirements but have not yet satisfied the English proficiency requirement, you may apply for conditional admission based upon eventual completion of the English Language Institute (ELI) program at Jamestown Community College (JCC).
Jamestown Community College, which is part of the State University of New York, has specific coursework that will help you strengthen your skills for official enrollment at Edinboro. The college, located about 65 miles northeast of the Edinboro campus, provides extensive student support services on a full-residential campus. Learn more by visiting www.sunyjcc.edu.
While attending JCC, you will be enrolled full time in a course of study that is designed to improve your English proficiency to be academically successful at Edinboro. To begin your degree program at Edinboro, you will need a minimum GPA of a 2.0 at JCC and a letter of recommendation from the ELI instructor.
A $1,105 international student scholarship is available to students who are accepted to this program and enrolled at JCC full time (12 or more credit hours per semester).
Additional credits completed at JCC may be transferred back to Edinboro University per articulation agreements.

Get a head start on your academic program at Edinboro by enrolling in JCC's summer English Language Immersion program. This program offers you an opportunity to study English grammar and improve your vocabulary, pronunciation, listening skills, speaking, reading and writing. No minimum TOEFL score is required.

All English proficiency exams must be taken within 2 years of application submission.
The application for admission and all supporting documents must be received no later than the date indicated for the corresponding semester.

- Spring Semester (begins in mid-January) – Nov.1
